Project
A Reliable Energy System
The Hope X Clay Energy Complex will feature both utility-scale solar and a battery energy storage system that can store both excess solar power and excess grid power.
The solar part of the facility will harvest solar energy for either immediate delivery into the grid or to charge the battery. The battery can also store extra energy from the grid and send a mix of solar and grid power back out – day or night.

This flexible, responsive setup will boost regional reliability and help ensure the TVA system can meet growing demand from data centers, high-tech manufacturing, and electrification.
An Ideal Location
The Hope X Clay Energy Complex is being proposed on private property northeast of West Point that will be purchased from over a dozen local landowners. The project’s location next to TVA’s West Point substation will ensure that facility can reliably and cost-effectively serve regional power demand.
